Student Projects
Student Project 1: Connecticut Museum of Art
This project aimed to instruct us in the design of an interactive website focused on a specific topic. I developed an interactive website to facilitate ticket sales for a museum event.
Challenge: The primary objective was to design an interactive website that users can effectively purchase event tickets for the museum.
Solution: I employed a font and layout that prioritize readability through contrasting colors and appropriate size scaling. The design incorporates a clear hierarchy that highlights the most critical elements of the website, including the navigation page and a map pinpointing the museum's location. This structure ensures users can easily access essential information while navigating the site.
Student Project 2: Be Green
This project focused on understanding hierarchy in design through the creation of a poster for an eco-friendly company promoting buying local.
Challenge: The main goal was to design a poster that effectively communicated a clear hierarchy to promote the benefits of buying local.
Solution: To achieve this, I employed bright colors against a light background, ensuring that the primary message of the poster was the most prominent. While the supporting information remains significant, the design strategy allowed the key message to stand out effectively.

Student Project 3: Range of Representation eBook
This project aimed to explore the range of representation through the creation of an eBook.
Challenge: The main challenge was to ensure that the range of representation remained the focal point throughout the project. I selected a leopard as my central object and used images to depict a leopard through various forms and media.
Solution: To tackle this challenge, I utilized key search words to locate images that identified the five distinct ranges of representation. By curating these images, I constructed a cohesive eBook centered around the leopard, showcasing its range of representations across different styles and media.
Student Project 4: Photoshop Home Remodel
This project was an assignment from the certificate program I am currently undertaking in Adobe.
Challenge: The main challenge was to create a Photoshop design using one of three provided images. The objective was to apply skills learned in the program to create a comprehensive output that demonstrates my proficiency with Adobe tools.
Solution: I chose the image of a house just after construction had finished and approached the project with a fresh perspective. Starting from square one, I navigated through the design process by experimenting with various tools and techniques in Photoshop. This involved a dynamic back-and-forth between my course materials and the software, allowing me to adapt and refine my design in real-time.
The process became a blend of structured learning and creative exploration, resulting in a professional yet engaging final product. Throughout the process, I focused on important design principles, aiming to showcase my understanding of visual communication, layout design, and user experience. The final deliverable reflects the knowledge I have gained and serves as a stepping stone for further development in my design career.
